AWARDS
Anna Asbury Stone Chapter, NSDAR, offers award opportunities to local school-age students.
American History Essay Contest
All students in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 in a public, private, or parochial schools, or those who are home-schooled, are eligible.
American History Video Contest
All students in grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 in public, private, or parochial schools, or those who are home-schooled are eligible.
Constitution Week Poster Contest
All DAR members and non-DAR members, ALL AGES, are invited to participate in the Constitution Week Poster Contest. The winning poster will be offered for sale at the DAR store. The poster should illustrate or celebrate the spirit or meaning of the U.S. Constitution.
Good Citizens Contest
The DAR Good Citizens Committee seeks to illuminate high school seniors who help to renew and strengthen the democracy achieved by the Patriots of the American Revolution. Through the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism, DAR seeks to recognize and uplift these young citizens as a shining example to others.
The Anna Asbury Stone Chapter, NSDAR, recognizes and awards local high school seniors through the Good Citizens Program and Contest. It is open to all high school seniors enrolled in public or private schools accredited by their state board of education. United States citizenship is not required. The student’s high school may be in-person, hybrid, or virtual instruction.
The student selected as the school’s DAR Good Citizen must have the following qualities:

Dependability (truthfulness, honesty, punctuality, etc.)

Service (cooperation, helpfulness, responsibility, etc.)

Leadership (personality, self-control, initiative, etc.)
-
Patriotism (unselfish loyalty to American ideals)

DAR's Genealogical Research System (GRS) is a free resource provided by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution to aid general genealogical research and to assist with the DAR membership process. The GRS is a collection of databases that provide access to the many materials amassed by the DAR since its founding in 1890.

The Ohio Genealogical Society is the largest state genealogical society in the United States. Its mission is to meet the educational needs of its members and the general public through the acquisition, preservation, and dissemination of genealogical and historical information.
Guernsey County Vital Records, Ohio
Where can I find Guernsey County Birth, Marriage, Divorce and Death Records?
Guernsey County vital records can be found at the Ohio Department of Health which has birth records since December 20, 1908; death records since 1954 and copies of marriage and divorce records since 1918 to present. There is a fee for each copy requested. Please refer to the information to the Statewide Vital Records in Ohio for current fees and application process.
